collection of poems
By Maricel Hecimovich
The fog
Darkness lurks
As if the end is near
Don’t be alarmed
For hope is on the other side
Don’t let the fog fool you
For its purpose is to deceive
Know that
In your heart, the truth lies
Through the fog
The heart will lead
But only if you let it
her Beauty
Unknown to her
An inherited beauty, gifted by God
Hidden behind a crooked smile
Forgotten in time
Through the bitterness of the world
Her beauty is rediscovered
Stronger than ever
Her beauty shines now
From the inside out
Her beauty
Staring back at you now
Mine
I’m greedy
I’m Selfish
But Grateful
This Energy is mine
Purified by the divine
It belongs to no one, but me
I guard it with my life
Because it is all I have
My eternal lifeforce
So, yes…
I am greedy
I am selfish
But always grateful
time
It exists, but not in my world
For it is constricting
And binding
It is an illusion
Unrecognizable by the soul
So, tell me…
What has this illusion done for you?
Nothing.
solitude
It’s lonely
It’s not lonely
It’s bitter
It’s not bitter
Not easy, oh, but it is
Twists and turns
So much agony
Alas, it’s the only answer
To my grieving soul
In solitude
I am whole again
mirror souls
Your eyes…
They burn my soul
Memories of past lives
Come rushing in
I know you…
I’ve seen you…
My human mind…
Overwhelmed
Excited
Everything all at once
What are you?
Who are you?
I am you.
